Richard Shrigley has been an educator for 22 years. He worked with the St. Clair Catholic District School Board as a Department Head of Student Services/Counselling providing counselling and support for students, families and staff in areas such as, academics, post-secondary transition planning, and personal counselling surrounding grief, addictions, and sexual orientation.
Upon retirement in 2017, Richard completed his Basic & Advanced Certification Level as a Trainer for NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback, as well as, became a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. He joined his wife, Cindy Shrigley, MSW, RSW, and his daughter, Dr. Tina Shrigley, C. Psych. in their counselling private practices.
He was instrumental in researching and implementing the first NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback Training Center in southwestern Ontario. The technology based system is a 100% non-invasive, drug-free, brain training system that helps the central nervous system (CNS) make the best use of your brain’s natural resources. NeurOptimal® is extremely powerful and effective.
In addition to providing counselling and neurofeedback, Richard oversees the Office Administration of the counselling private practice.
He enjoys being able to help children, adolescents and adults to build resources and gain insight towards achieving their life goals.
In his spare time, Richard enjoys spending time at the cottage, gardening and woodworking.
