I believe that many mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, shame, hopelessness, sleep disturbances, feeling stuck, difficulties with setting boundaries, and disconnection from oneself often arise from past traumas or attachment wounds. I am passionate about helping clients transform the stuck patterns or symptoms in their life so that they can see themselves in a compassionate light, and find relief from their symptoms. I bring deep listening and compassion to the clients I work with, and I move at a pace that supports clients in reducing their distressing symptoms and builds feelings of confidence, safety, and self-worth.

I am a registered social worker, and I have been a trauma therapist for 14 years with a specialization in working with complex trauma, PTSD, and dissociation. I also specialize in working with clients with chronic pain, injury, and disability, and I bring my own experience of living with a spinal cord injury to inform my understanding of clients’ experiences.

I am trained in a number of trauma processing modalities, including Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and parts work (structural dissociation). I highly value DBR as a starting place for trauma processing due to its focus on clearing shock from the body and not requiring clients to have to relive their trauma.

In my downtime, I love getting to be in nature, whether enjoying wildflowers in the spring, or swimming at the beach in the summer.  I also love time to slow down, sit together with friends and family, and listen to music.  Based on my own past experience of living with a disability as a teenager, I have a strong belief in honouring the dignity and wisdom that each person holds.
