Brittany Courteau, MSW, RSW (she/her)

EMDR Therapist | DBR Therapist

I come to this field first and foremost as a fellow human being—one who deeply appreciates the struggles, unknowns, and challenges that are part of being human.

My approach to therapy is highly collaborative and interactive. It’s about you, your life, your goals, and how I can be a strong, skillful support as you navigate whatever you’re facing. Together, we explore not only hopes, ideas, and dreams, but also the fears, confusion, and darker spaces we all wrestle with. In these moments, we gently peel back the layers to uncover and honor your deepest truths. There may be tears, and there will almost certainly be laughter too.

I believe strongly in human connection and in building a solid therapeutic foundation where you can feel safe as we do this work together. Human beings are complex, and a one-size-fits-all approach simply doesn’t cut it. I work from a trauma-informed and eclectic framework, tailoring therapy to what works best for you.

I am an EMDRIA-certified EMDR therapist and have completed Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) Levels 1, 2, and 3. These approaches allow us to work with trauma  in a way that is both effective and deeply respectful of your nervous system and lived experience.

Reaching out for support can be scary, and finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming. Sometimes a photo or a paragraph isn’t enough to make that decision, and it’s okay to take your time. If you feel curious about working together, I welcome you to reach out and see if this feels like the right next step for you.
